John Warren Taylor Jr., 43, of the 800 block of Tuition Drive, died May 4, 1995, in Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Mr. Taylor was born in Norfolk. He was a welder for Unidyne Corporation (Norfolk), and a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Yale, Va. He was a strong man with character and a U.S. veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bessie M. Taylor; two daughters, Lavina N. Taylor and Iesha M. Taylor; and two sons, David Atkins and John W. Taylor III, all of Virginia Beach; his parents, John W. Taylor Sr. and Victoria V. Taylor of Sussex County; a sister, Georgia N. Taylor of Norfolk; and a host of aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law, cousins and friends and sisters-in-law.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday at Metropolitan Funeral Service by the Rev. Thurmond Leonard. Burial will be private in Hampton National Cemetery. Family and friends will be at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday and will assemble at 11 a.m. Tuesday at 851 Tuition Drive, Virginia Beach, for funeral processional to the chapel.
