Teddy Barto, 78, of the 300 block of Hertz Road, died May 7, 1995, in a Hampton hospital.
Mr. Barto was a native of Chesapeake and was a retired farmer. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chesapeake. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served as a sergeant in the infantry.
Survivors include three sisters, Eva Wagnstrom of Chesapeake, Elizabeth Lee of Portsmouth and Helen Salamon of New Castle, Pa.; two brothers, Stanley Barto of Suffolk and Frank Barto of Melbourne, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church by Father Charles Faul. Burial will be in St. Paul's Catholic Cemetery on Thursday at 11 a.m. with military honors. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the church. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is handling arrangements.
