As a former student who wrote for Regent University publications, I was amused by Roberta Baker's insinuating that Pat Robertson is anti-Jewish or anti-Semitic (Another View, May 3).
It's astonishing that she would argue, straight-faced, that university chancellors are somehow personally responsible for pre-empting or ``controlling'' the off-the-wall editorials generated by students on any subject.
As a student editor, I routinely pilloried college authorities and others in my editorials. I can't imagine any university exercising the editorial control presumed by Ms. Baker.
Ms. Baker's objection to Pat Robertson appears to join in the thinly veiled effort to marginalize Robertson's political influence with Jews and other people who hold traditional values and find anti-Semitism abhorrent.
