Cox High students were released early from school Tuesday because of a power outage.
Cox Principal Perry B. Pope said power was expected to be restored in time for school to resume today. Parents and students may call the school for information at 496-6767.
The outage, which occurred sometime before classes started Tuesday morning, was caused by a corroded underground cable, Pope said. Virginia Power workers had to replace a section of the cable, he said.
Students remained in school until power company officials determined that it would take several hours to fix the problem. by CNB
