The former director of the University of Virginia's Newcomb Hall student activities center has been convicted of charging U.Va. for two personal plane trips.
Greer D. Wilson, 52, pleaded no contest Monday to petty larceny, a misdemeanor, in Albemarle County General District Court, according to her attorney, J. Lloyd Snook III.
Judge Stephen H. Helvin sentenced her to 30 days in jail but suspended the sentence.
Wilson originally was charged with two counts of misusing state funds, or embezzlement, in January.
Those charges were removed and the lesser charges written in as part of the agreement that she would not contest them, said Albemarle Commonwealth's Attorney James L. Camblos III.
Wilson has reimbursed the school for the plane trips, which cost $499 and $244, Snook said.
He said his client, who resigned Nov. 1 from her Newcomb Hall job, now works as a private consultant.
