JOHN H. BOND

John Hudgins ``Jack'' Bond, 75, of the 100 block of Morris Circle, died Sunday, May 14, 1995, in his residence.

Mr. Bond was a lifelong resident of Edenton and retired from Seabrook Blanching Corp. He was a Staff Sergeant in World War II and served with the 42nd Infantry Division. He was awarded the European Campaign Medal with Three Battlestars, the Combat Infantry Badge, The Bronze Medal, and survived as a Prisoner of War in Germany.

Mr. Bond was the son of the late Hettie Hudgins and Millard F. Bond Sr., and was the widower of Minnie Annette Barber Bond.

He is survived by two step-sons, J.B. Rudd of Nashville, Tenn., and Robert Parker of Richmond, Va.; two sisters, Edith B. Nixon of Edenton, and Doris B. Smith of Chesapeake, Va.; one brother, James M. Bond of Edenton; and nine nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Beaver Hill Cemetery, Edenton, by the Rev. Danny Gurganus. The family will receive friends at the home of Mrs. Nixon, 202 Robin Lane, Edenton. Evans Funeral Home, Edenton, is handling the arrangements.
