Ella Warren Askew, 79, died May 13, 1995.
She was a native of Murfreesboro, N.C., and was the widow of Gilbert C. Askew. She was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Joanne Wood of McPherson, Kan. Katie M. Matthews of Virginia Beach and Connie Klohn of Suffolk; one son, Stan Askew of Chesapeake; two sisters, Margaret Parker of Portsmouth and Nellie Gray of Murfreesboro, N.C.; two brothers, Gilbert Warren and Emmett Warren, both of Murfreesboro, N.C.; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Camilla Askew Musico.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Deep Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Ernie Myers and Dr. Roscoe Musselwhite. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at Snelling Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel, Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Building Fund of Deep Creek Baptist Church.
