James ``Talmage'' Lowers Sr., 75, of Route 1, died May 14, 1995, in Guardian Care Nursing Home, Ahoskie.
He was a native of Hertford County, N.C., and was a retired route salesman for Flowers Baking Co. He had worked there for 27 years. He was a member of Meherrin Baptist Church, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include two sons, J.T. Lowers Jr. of Franklin, Va., and Edgar L. Lowers of Harrellsville, N.C.; one sister, Josephine Chambers of Elizabeth City, N.C.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Highland Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Billy Sellers. The family will receive friends at the home of Edgar L. Lowers, Wiccacon Road, Harrellsville, N.C. Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, is handling the arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the Meherrin Baptist Church, Murfreesboro.
