Jack C. Hawkins Sr., of the 1200 block of Freedom Ave., died May 14, 1995, in his home.
He was a native of Nansemond County, and was a retired sandblaster for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a member of the Mens Organization of Community Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Beatrice V. Hawkins; three daughters, Dr. Patricia H. Fisher of Portsmouth, Shirley H. Brown of Virginia Beach and Marilyn H. Drewrey of Chesapeake; two sons, Jack C. Hawkins Jr. and Calvin S. Hawkins, both of Portsmouth; 10 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, in-laws, and friends. He was predeceased by a daughter, Rita H. Holmes.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Community Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Frances R. Paige. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Viewing will be at Corprew Funeral Home today at 2 p.m. The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Tuesday. ILLUSTRATION: Personal Photo
