Carma Blair Midyette Harris, 80, died May 14, 1995, in Raleigh at the home of her daughter, Harriette Harris Riggs, wife of William H. Riggs.
Mrs. Harris, daughter of Oscar and Ludie Gibbs Midyette, was born April 14, 1915 at Lake Landing in Hyde County, N.C. She was the widow of Derwood B. Harris, formerly of Bayboro, N.C., and of Chesapeake, Va.
Also surviving are daughter, Linda Harris Beasley, wife of Ray Beasley of Madison Heights, Va.; sons, Derwood T. Harris of Sumter, S.C., and John E. Harris of Virginia Beach; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Cottie Lee Wilson of Greenville, N.C., and Mrs. Lillie Gay Schrieber of Burlington, Mass.
A funeral will be conducted by her grandson, the Rev. Billy Riggs of Raleigh, at South Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Route 2, Aurora, N.C. at 2 p.m. today. Arrangements are by Pollock-Wells & Best Funeral Home, New Bern.
