Donald Odell Norvell, 63, of the 2000 block of Ardmore Ave., died May 14, 1995, at his residence.
Mr. Norvell, born in Nitro, W.Va., was the son of the late Jesse F. and Neva J. Fowler Norvell. He was retired from the Flowers Bakery after 15 years of service, and was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles (NU)795. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a recipient of the Purple Heart.
He is survived by his wife, Mary J. Rainey Norvell of the home; a daughter, Deseree' Hall of Chesapeake; three sons, Raymond A. Norvell of Richmond, Donald F. Norvell of Courtland, Va., and James Norvell of Chesapeake; two sisters, Charlotte Erwin of Norfolk and Roslee Moser of Pennsylvania; two brothers, Leonard Norvell and Judson Norvell, both of Norfolk; and seven grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Rosewood Memorial Park by the Rev. Johnnie McDonald. The family will receive friends at Twiford Colonial Chapel, Chesapeake, from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the Lung-Cancer Association.
