PLAYSKOOL RECALLING ITS FAULTY 1-2-3 SWINGS

Consumers who own Playskool's 1-2-3 Swings should stop using them because the seat restraint can falsely appear to be locked and cause children to fall out, the government said Tuesday. The company is voluntarily recalling 123,000 of the multicolored plastic swings that were sold for about $25 nationwide between March and May, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said. The safety agency said 50 consumers have reported children falling from the swings and suffering injuries that ranged from bumps and bruises to a broken nose. The swings convert to three styles: infant swing, chair swing and seat swing. The problem occurs in the infant swing position. Consumers who own a 1-2-3 Swing should stop using it and return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund. Consumers may also contact Playskool, toll-free, at 1-800-752-9755 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT.
