TEENAGER CHARGED WITH MURDER IN FATAL SHOOTING OF NORFOLK MAN

A teenager suspected in the slaying of a Norfolk man Thursday was arrested Monday night, police said Tuesday.

Maurice Moore, 17, was arrested without incident in the 1000 block of W. 41st St., police said. He was charged with murder and use of a firearm, as well as possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Additional charges of malicious wounding from a previous case were filed, police said.

Moore is suspected of killing 25-year-old Xavier Graves who was found shot in the 1000 block of 38th St.

Graves died in a hospital an hour after the shooting was reported, police said.

Police said Moore, of the 800 block of 37th St., had been a suspect since early in the investigation and that the shooting appeared to have stemmed from an argument between Moore and Graves.
