Raymond L. Lassiter Sr., 79, of the 600 block of Warfield Drive, a retired boilermaker, died May 16, 1995, in Maryview Hospital.
Mr. Lassiter was born in Severn, N.C., and was the widower of Alease Lassiter. He was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard after 35 years.
Survivors include four daughters, Shirley Lassiter and Dorothy Lassiter, both of Portsmouth, Erma Freeman of Chesapeake and Gloria McCullum of Alexandria, Va.; five sons, Paul Lassiter of Maryland, Willie Lassiter of California, Raymond Lassiter Jr. of North Carolina, John Lassiter and George Lassiter, both of Portsmouth; his father, Johnnie M. Lassiter of Severn, N.C.; a brother, Harold M. Lassiter of Severn, N.C.; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Corprew Funeral Home by the Rev. Herman Williams. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. Viewing will begin at noon Saturday in the funeral Home.
