Francis Steger McCoy, 81, a long-time resident of Virginia Beach, died May 18, 1995, in a local hospital.
Mr. McCoy was born in Elizabeth City, N.C. He was the owner of McCoy Oil Co., a member of First Baptist Church of Virginia Beach, Lost Chord Club, Cavalier Yacht and Golf Club and Virginia Beach Lodge (NU)274 AF & AM, and attended the University of Virginia.
Survivors include his wife, Jean (Britton) McCoy; a daughter, Frances Anne McCoy of Arlington, Va.; a son, Timothy Charles McCoy of Richmond, Va.; a stepson, Michael Price of Kitty Hawk, N.C.; a sister, Yvonne Brusso of Portsmouth; a grandson, Timothy McCoy of Baltimore, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 27, at First Baptist Church of Virginia Beach by the Rev. Ted James and the Rev. James Rittenhouse. Burial will be private. Arrangements by Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions be sent to: First Baptist Church (Organ Fund), 35th Street and Holly Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23451.
