Edgar Francis Thompson, 83, of the 3100 block of Havenwood Court, Apt. B-2, a retired foreman machinist, died May 19, 1995, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Mr. Thompson was born in Columbus, Ga. He retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard Shop (NU)31 after 37 years, was the widower of Evelyn Lucille Thompson and was an Army veteran.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia T. Sessoms of Suffolk; a son, James E. Thompson Sr. of Portsmouth; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, by the Rev. Robert Bennett. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday.
