MARY L. JEFFRIES

Mary Lucy Johnson Jeffries, 80, of the 200 block of Beale Court, died Sunday, May 21, 1995, at Southampton Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Jeffries was a native of Southampton County and the widow of Charles Berkley ``Jeff'' Jeffries. Mrs. Jeffries was the daughter of the late Frank and Marie Barrett Johnson. Mrs. Jeffries was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Jean Hedgepeth and her husband, Cliff, and Rose Holt and her husband, Jim; one son, C. Wayne Jeffries, and his wife, Julia, all of Franklin; two sisters, Doris Ellis of Florida and Virginia Vick of Franklin; one brother, Frank Johnson of Ranson, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Clifford Hedgepeth III, Jim Holt Jr., John W. Holt, Charles Wayne Jeffries and Anne Berkley H. Christy; two very special great-granddaughters, Taylor Yates Christy and Betty Ann Jeffries.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, at Wright Funeral Home, by the Rev. John T. Lennon. The burial will be in the Black Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
