Samuel Tilton Cordell, 82, of Knightdale, N.C., and formerly of Virginia Beach and Norfolk, Va., died May 20, 1995, in Knightdale.
Mr. Cordell was born in Norfolk and was the widower of Edna T. Cordell. He was retired as a statistician draftsman from the Norfolk Naval Supply Center after 33 years. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church for 20 years and Hephzibah Baptist Church in Wendell, N.C.
Survivors include two daughters, Paula C. Soontiraratn of Knightdale and Gloria C. Schoeller of Chesapeake; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. William Sanderson of Wendell, N.C. The family will receive friends at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, Virginia Beach, from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
