Elementary School in Virginia Beach. A Real Life story Sunday about
early risers had the school's name wrong.
The byline was missing Monday from a column headlined ``CBS
weighed co-anchor Chung and decided she's a lightweight.'' The
column was written by TV writer Larry Bonko.
A Metro News story Sunday on the race for the Norfolk clerk of
court position erroneously referred to Randy Wright as the
Democratic incumbent. Wright, a Norfolk City councilman, is the
Democratic contender for clerk of court. William T. Ryan is the
current clerk of court and is retiring.
Also, the same story said that Mary Albertson Grigg was defeated
by George Schaefer for the 86th District nomination. Grigg withdrew
from the competition before the vote.
John Jackson works as a grocery bagger at a Farm Fresh store in
the Kings Grant area of Virginia Beach. A story Sunday in the Real
Life section had a wrong locale for the grocery store.
A Gardening Reminders column Sunday had errors. Bill Wells,
former manager of Bryant Hardware in Kempsville, is not deceased.
Also, the name of the hardware store was wrong.
A caption Sunday with a story about the carrier Saratoga
erroneously said that Air Wing 17 is now assigned to the carrier
Eisenhower. It is assigned to the Enterprise, as the story stated.
The name of the falciparum strain of malaria was misspelled in an
Associated Press story Saturday about the rescue of two Guyana girls
lost in the Amazon jungle.
