Barbara Sessoms is assistant principal of Pembroke Meadows

Elementary School in Virginia Beach. A Real Life story Sunday about

early risers had the school's name wrong.

The byline was missing Monday from a column headlined ``CBS

weighed co-anchor Chung and decided she's a lightweight.'' The

column was written by TV writer Larry Bonko.

A Metro News story Sunday on the race for the Norfolk clerk of

court position erroneously referred to Randy Wright as the

Democratic incumbent. Wright, a Norfolk City councilman, is the

Democratic contender for clerk of court. William T. Ryan is the

current clerk of court and is retiring.

Also, the same story said that Mary Albertson Grigg was defeated

by George Schaefer for the 86th District nomination. Grigg withdrew

from the competition before the vote.

John Jackson works as a grocery bagger at a Farm Fresh store in

the Kings Grant area of Virginia Beach. A story Sunday in the Real

Life section had a wrong locale for the grocery store.

A Gardening Reminders column Sunday had errors. Bill Wells,

former manager of Bryant Hardware in Kempsville, is not deceased.

Also, the name of the hardware store was wrong.

A caption Sunday with a story about the carrier Saratoga

erroneously said that Air Wing 17 is now assigned to the carrier

Eisenhower. It is assigned to the Enterprise, as the story stated.

The name of the falciparum strain of malaria was misspelled in an

Associated Press story Saturday about the rescue of two Guyana girls

lost in the Amazon jungle.
