Landon Bradley Maxey, Sr., 90, of 905 Howard Place, died May 24, 1995.
A native of Richmond, he was a son of the late Rev. Robert Melville and Edna Bradley Maxey.
Mr. Maxey, a retired attorney, practiced law in Suffolk for over fifty years. He attended Suffolk Presbyterian Church and was a member of Victoria United Methodist Church. He was a member of Suffolk Elks Lodge (NU)685, where he was a past Exalted Ruler and former secretary for thirty years. He was president of the Virginia State Elks Association in 1961, a graduate of Randolph Macon College and the College of William and Mary's Wythe Law School.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Thorn Painter Maxey; a daughter, Mary Thorn Maxey Harrell of Suffolk; a son, Landon Bradley Maxey, Jr. of Sorrento, FL.
A funeral service will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at the graveside in Cedar Hill Cemetery by Rev. Donald Hammond. The family will be at the home. Memorial donations may be made to the Nansemond Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1515, Suffolk, Va. 23439 or to the National Elks Foundation, c/o Suffolk Elks Lodge 685, P.O.
