ROSSIE BASS

Rossie ``Seldon'' Bass, 85, of Edenton, a self-employed carpenter and fisherman, died May 24, 1995 in Chowan Hospital, Edenton.

Mr. Bass was born Sept. 26, 1909, in Chowan County, N.C. He was the son of the late Mary Braxton Bass and William Bass and was a member of Rocky Hock Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Virgie Jones Bass of Edenton; granddaughters Rhonda B. Dail and Kathy B. Turner, both of Tyner, Angela B. Lane of Smithfield, Va., Robin B. Christian of New York, Barbara B. Sanchez of Edenton and Donna B. Byrum of Belvidere, N.C.; one sister; and 15 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Beaver Hill Cemetery by the Rev. Danny Garganous. Family will be at the funeral home from 12 to funeral time. Evans Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
