Lenora Gladden King, 85, a resident of the Village at Woods Edge, died Wednesday, May 24, 1995, at the East Pavilion.
Mrs. King was a native of Fort Lawn, S.C., and was the widow of James Boyce King. She was the daughter of the late W.T. and Essie Finch Gladden. Mrs. King was a retired elementary school teacher with 40 years of service with the Lancaster, S.C., Public School System. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lancaster and was a 1931 graduate of Winthrop College, Rock Hill, S.C.
Mrs. King is survived by one sister, Frances Gladden Albright of Franklin and was predeceased by one brother, E.T. Gladden, formerly of Jacksonville, Fla. Other survivors include nieces and nephews, Nora and Jim Vasoti of Franklin, Tom and Marion Gladden of Mableton, Ga., Susan and Ken Ward of Suffolk, Denise and Jeff Spencer and Clay Tinkham, all of Norfolk.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Elmwood Cemetery, Fort Lawn, S.C., by the Rev. Steve Morgan. The family will receive friends at the Mahaffey Funeral Home, Lancaster, S.C., from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, and suggest memorials be made to First United Methodist Church, 200 W. Gay St., Lancaster, S.C. 29720. Wright Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
