Charles Henry Minehart Jr., 72, of the 4200 block of Radcliff Lane, a retired welder, died May 25, 1995, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Mr. Minehart was born in Philadelphia and was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard after 22 years. He was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church and Fleet Reserve. He was also retired from the U.S. Navy with 20 years' service, having served in both World War II and the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Beunie Roughton Minehart; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles Henry and Sandra Minehart III of Chesapeake; two sisters, Evelyn Walsh of Philadelphia and Joan Kaminski of Maple Shade, N.J.; a granddaughter, Natasha Lee Minehart and a grandson, Travis Dalton Minehart, both of Chesapeake.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, by Father Timothy Drake. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the residence.
