JAMES STOWE

James Stowe, 75, of the 4300 block of South St., died May 25, 1995, in his residence.

A native of Portsmouth, he was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a supply warehouseman. He was a member of Westhaven Baptist Church and Western Branch Masonic Lodge (NU)189, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include three daughters, Marie Armstrong and her husband, Tommy of Chesapeake, Theresa Evans of Carthage, Mo., and Rebecca Smith of Portsmouth; and four grandchildren, Jamie Dahling, Ean Armstrong, Tyler Armstrong and Victoria Smith.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, with Masonic rites, by the Rev. W. Thomas Wood. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
