The Smithfield Police Department and Gwaltney of Smithfield Ltd. will offer free identification photographs of children today and Sunday at the Smithfield Olden Days Festival.
The KidCare ID photos, developed by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Polaroid Corp., are meant to be used if a child is involved in an emergency situation or is missing.
Smithfield police officers will be in a booth set up on Main Street to help weigh and measure children and to guide families through the KidCare photo ID process. Fingerprinting will also be provided.
