Lee R. ``Billy'' George Jr., 73, a retired tug boat captain, died May 27, 1995, at his home.
Mr. George was born in Foxwells, Va. He was a member of Cava Freewill Baptist Church. He had retired from Haldeman Towing.
Survivors include his wife, Syble R. George; two daughters, Barbara I. Wilson of Virginia Beach and Deborah L. Gaskins of Chesapeake; two sons, the Rev. Fred Warren Bates Jr. of Chesapeake and William H. Bates of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; a brother, Norman George of Foxwells, Va.; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. W. Jerry Holcombe. The family will receive friends at the home of John and Barbara Wilson, 3666 Hillbreeze Road, Virginia Beach, Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, in charge.
