Clarence Arthur Dorband U.S.N. (Ret.), 76, of the 8200 block of Tabor Court, died May 28, 1995, in his residence.
Mr. Dorband was born in Evanston, Ill., and retired from the U.S. Navy as a First Class Storekeeper in 1972 after 20 years. He was also retired from Norshipco in 1981 and from Chicago and Northwestern Railroad. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and a member of Fleet Reserve Association Branch 60 and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was predeceased by a son, Glen C. Dorband.
Survivors include wife, Lucille Scheels Dorband; one daughter, Linda Talay of Newport News; one son, Keith R. Dorband of Virginia Beach; one sister, Lillian Szostak of Guernee, Ill.; one brother, Donald Dorband of Waukegan, Ill.; grandchildren, Christina Talay and Lisa Talay of Newport News, Tamara Smith of Flint, MI., and Bethany and Whitney Dorband of Virginia Beach; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted Tuesday, May 30, 1995, at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Mark Schroeder in St. Johns Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel in charge. Family will be at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Johns Lutheran Church, 8918 Tidewater Drive, Norfolk, or Saint Timothy Lutheran Church, 1051 Kempsville Road, Norfolk.
