ELIZABETH J. DEAN

Elizabeth Jordan Dean, 61, of the 1100 block of Hanover Ave., a former teacher and the founding director of the Infant Care Center at Larchmont Baptist Church, died May 28, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.

Mrs. Dean, a native of Statesville, N.C., was a member of Larchmont Baptist Church, Norfolk.

Survivors include her husband, the Rev. John Dean; three daughters, Beth Jones of Charlotte, N.C., Amy Dean of Norfolk, Susan Mundy of Black Mountain, N.C.; a son, John Alan Dean of Morganton, N.C.; her father, J.W. Jordan of Winston-Salem, N.C.; a sister, Ann Van Rossum of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, J.W. Jordan Jr. of Winston-Salem, N.C.; and three grandchildren, Lauren and Catherine Jones and John Austin Dean.

A chapel service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk, by Dr. Donald J. Dunlap and the Rev. Wayne Blythe. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Oakwood Cemetery, Statesville, N.C., by the Rev. Albert Leath. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made to the Larchmont Baptist Infant Care Center, 1127 Surrey Crescent, Norfolk, Va. 23508.
