Junior Girl Scout Stacey Barnett, daughter of John and Rosemary Scheid of Norfolk, has been awarded the Buck Harris Award by the Girl Scout Council of Colonial Coast.
Stacey, a fifth-grader at Suburban Park Elementary and a member of Junior Troop 427, received a certificate and a fee-paid week at a Girl Scout camp or other council event, along with the award, which was established in honor of former Girl Scout Executive Director Buck Harris and her dedication to environmental education.
Stacey, who has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair, has been active in Scouting for four years. She has traveled with the troop on camping trips and on a summer trip to Savannah, Ga.
``The Living Sea,'' the giant-screen film specially commissioned for Nauticus, has won an award from the International Film and Video Festival. The festival awarded the film its first-place Gold Camera Award.
