THEODORE J. BUTLER

Theodore Jerome Butler, 66, of the 1200 block of Cherokee Road, a retired auto body mechanic, died May 30, 1995, in a Portsmouth hospital.

Mr. Butler was a native of Bulls Gap, Tenn. He was the son of the late George Fields Butler and Grace Frances Everhart Butler. He was a member of Believers Baptist Church, Chesapeake.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia R. Butler; five daughters, Linda Tsunami and husband, Enrique, of Silver Spring, Md., Patricia Mordica of Chesapeake, Rhonda Stevens and husband, Tim, of Suffolk, Debra Ward and husband, Donnie, of Portsmouth and Lisa Marie Butler of Temple Hills, Md.; three sons, Jerry Raymond Butler and wife, Joyce of Wheaton, Md., Gary Wayne Butler and wife, Peggy, of Portsmouth and Michael Allen Butler of Portsmouth; seven sisters, Delores L. Haun of Chattanooga, Tenn., Patricia A. Davis of Bulls Gap, Tenn., Elizabeth B. Johnson, Norma F. Geer, Gloria E. Carter, all of Portsmouth, Teresa E. Ricketts of Waldorf, Md. and Karen F. Ball of Chesapeake; four brothers, George F. Butler of Baltimore, David A. Butler of Pomfret, Md., James E. Butler of Virginia Beach and John R. Butler of White Plains, Md.; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Bellon.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Scott Ranck. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
