Everywhere there are editorials and letters defending the militia movement and even the bombing in Oklahoma City. They say the government is after us. They say to remember how those federal agents burned all those people in Waco, Texas. They say ``you could be next.''
The truth: Federal agents tried to save the people in that compound. David Koresh, a man who collected as many guns and wives as he could (some ``wives'' not old enough for high school) and who claimed to be the new Messiah, burned his own people to death rather than surrender to the authorities - authorities who came to call about activities not guaranteed by the Constitution.
