Grace Whitworth Sutton, 84, died Thursday, June 1, 1995, at her residence.
Mrs. Sutton was born in Richmond, Va., and was a school teacher for 32 years in the Virginia school system. She was a member of Mount Olivet United Methodist Church in Manteo and the Methodist Women. She was the daughter of the late George Bowling Whitworth and the late Sarah Perrin Whitworth, and was the wife of the late Nathan C. Sutton.
Mrs. Sutton is survived by one daughter, Virginia Gail Toler of Manteo; two sons, Page W. Sutton of Germantown, Tenn., and John Stephen Sutton of Williamsburg, Va.; one sister, Bess Whitworth of Elizabeth City; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Mount Olivet United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Bundy officiatng. A private burial will take place in Richmond, Va. Visitation will be at Twiford's Colony Chapel from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
