There are some things that government shouldn't do, things that people ought to do for themselves. One of those things is conducting religious services for high school graduates.
A group of local church members, businesses and students, called the Chesapeake Baccalaureate Ministry Support Group, is organizing private baccalaureate services for graduating seniors. Services are planned for June 11 at all five Chesapeake high schools.
They could use some help. Donations may be made by sending checks payable to the Chesapeake Baccalaureate Ministry Support Group to P.O. Box 16234, Chesapeake, Va. 233289-6234.
The money will be used to send our young people into the world with a prayer. That's a worthwhile cause. by CNB
