Albert Hillian, 86, of the 7400 block of Oakmont Drive, a retired fleet mechanic, died Wednesday, June 7, 1995, peacefully at his residence.
Mr. Hillian was born in Chesterfield, S.C., and was the son of Allen and Melissa Turnage Hillian. He was the widower of Essie Watson Hillian and was a member of Olive Grove Baptist Church. He retired 21 years ago from the Naval Public Works Center after 29 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Mildred H. Green of Norfolk and Sarah H. Timm of Peekskill, N.Y.; seven sons, James H. Hillian of Washington, D.C., Jerimiah Hillian of Capital Heights, Md., Arnold Hillian and Willie Hillian of Brooklyn, N.Y., Richard Hillian of Virginia Beach, Leonard Hillian of Norfolk and Maj. Lawrence Hillian of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Martha Davan of Rahway, N.J., and Blanche Fleming of Chesterfield, S.C.; 35 grandchildren, among them a devoted granddaughter, Vanessa H. McMickle; 25 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including Leroy Little of Chesapeake.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Olive Grove Baptist Church, 1034 Albert Ave., by the Rev. Harry Davis. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. The family will be at Riddick Funeral Service from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday.
