Richfood Holdings Inc., the Richmond-based wholesale food distributor, says chief executive Donald D. Bennett will become the company's chairman. Bennett retains his chief executive title but succeeds Claude B. Owen Jr. as chairman. Owen will remain on the board of directors and serve on its executive committee. Bennett joined Richfood in May 1990 as president and chief executive officer. During his tenure, sales have increased 58 percent from $950 million to $1.5 billion. In another move, the board named John E. Stokely as president and chief operating officer. He previously was an executive vice president. by CNB
