U.S. Sen. John Ashcroft (R-Missouri) will be the keynote speaker at a June 17 fund-raiser for the Teen Challenge drug rehabilitation center.
Scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Family Life Center on the U.S. Route 158 bypass, the fund-raiser requires a $10 donation per person. All proceeds will benefit Teen Challenge, a 30-day drug rehabilitation center sponsored by the First Assembly of God church at the Outer Banks Worship Center Ark. In its first year, Teen Challenge has had 95 men graduate from the Kill Devil Hills-based program.
Ashcroft serves on Teen Challenge's national board. He will speak on cleaning up America by working to decrease drug use and crime. Ashcroft also will speak at the 8:45 a.m. and 11 a.m. church services on June 18 at the Worship Center Ark.
