MAN DIES IN CRASH

A 68-year-old Norfolk man whose car crashed into an oak tree in the 1700 block of Lafayette Blvd. early Sunday died at the scene, police spokesman Larry Hill said.

The man was driving a 1985 silver Lincoln Continental when he crashed just after 5 a.m.

He was not identified because relatives have not been notified, Hill said. He was the only occupant in the car.

Police have not yet determined the cause of death. The man may have suffered a stroke just before the accident, Hill said.

Alcohol was not a factor, police said.

The accident is under investigation.
