Elizabeth Sloan Owens, 82, of the 3300 block of Pattie Lane, beloved Mother and friend of many, died June 14, 1995, in her residence.
Mrs. Owens was born in Norfolk. She was the daughter of the late Martha Harlow Sloan and Cyrus Lee Sloan and was the widow of Jesse Edwin Owens Sr. She was retired from the Virginia Beach Public Schools and was a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Betty Jane Owens and Ann Owens Crosswhite, both of Virginia Beach, and Sybil Brown Owney of Smithfield; two sons, William Edwin Owens Sr., and Jesse Edwin Owens Jr., both of Virginia Beach; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by beloved niece and nephew, Mildred and Paul Thompson of Rossville, Ga.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Eugene Hobson. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, is handling arrangements.
