Lt. Gen. Richard E. Hawley has been nominated by President Clinton to be the next commander of allied air forces in Europe and head of the U.S. Air Force in Europe, the Pentagon announced Friday.
Hawley, 53, a native of Albany, N.Y., would replace Gen. James L. Jamerson, who has been selected to be deputy commander of the U.S. European Command, which is the multi-service U.S. command responsible for military operations in Europe. by CNB
