LEE ROY WALTERS

Mr. Lee Roy Walters, 80, of 600 State Ave., died Saturday, June 17, 1995, at his home.

Mr. Walters was born July 23, 1914, in Cabarrus County, N.C. He retired several years ago from the (NU)2 card room of Cannon Mills plant one. Mr. Walters was employed with Cannon Mills for 57 years. He was the son of the late Frank Daniel Walters and Fannie Caldwell Walters and was a lifelong resident of this area. He had been in declining health for several years and was seriously ill for one month.

Survivors include his wife, Johnsie Estelle Jackson Walters; a daughter, Mrs. Ella Marlene Walters Story of Cleveland, N.C.; a son, Mr. Frank Daniel Walters of the home; a sister, Mrs. Eva Mae Wilson of Kannapolis, N.C.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, June 19, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Bobby Sutherland. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Park. The body will remain at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and will make their headquarters at the residence.
