BERTHA D. CLINTON

Bertha D. Clinton, a retired registered nurse, of the 6700 block of Palem Road, died June 15, 1995, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Clinton was born in Norfolk, Virginia, and was the daughter of the late John Lewis and Sarah Dailey.

She was formerly employed at DePaul Hospital. She retired from Portsmouth Naval Hospital.

Mrs. Clinton was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, the Peninsula Nurses Association, and Mt. Gilead's Nurses Unit. She was also a member of the Adult Sunday School Class.

Survivors include her son, Isaac Clinton, Jr.; four sisters, Hazel D. Gray, Dorothy D. Shields, Elouise D. Kearney, and Thelma D. Harris; two brothers, George C. Dailey and Joseph L. Dailey; a godson, Eddie T. Robinson 3rd; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at noon, Monday, June 19, 1995, at the Mount Gilead Baptist Church with the pastor, Dr. Raymond Dean, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements. The family will receive friends and the procession will leave from 6477 Knox Rd. The body will be placed in the church at 10:00 a.m. Monday.
