Susan Duane Robinson (Nee Galt) died on May 25, 1995 at 102 years of age. The widow of Captain Alfred George Zimermann, USN Retired, she later married Captain Stephan Boutwell Robinson, USN Retired, who also predeceased her. Mrs. Robinson was born in the Galt House, in Williamsburg, Va. and reared in Norfolk, Va. She was graduated from the College for Women, Columbia, SC and attended Columbia University, New York, NY. An active member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Chevy Chase, Md., she was also a member of the Washington Committee of the National Cathedral Assn. and a docent at the Cathedral. During World War II, she was chairman of the Gray Ladies at U.S. National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Md. She was a member of the National Society of Colonial Dames, The Jamestown Society, the Association for the Preservation of Virginia Antiquities, the Daughters of the Cincinnati, and the Naval Officers Wives Club of Washington, DC. In later years, she was very active in the affairs of Carl Vinson Hall, McLean, Va., her retirement residence.
Mrs. Robinson is survived by her son, Captain Richard Galt Zimermann, USN Retired of Palm Coast, Fla. and McLean Va., three grandsons, and four great-grandchildren.
