Hallett Ward Owens, age 84, of 1226 North Road Street, Elizabeth City, NC, died Tuesday, June 20, 1995, in the Albemarle Hospital. Mr. Owens was a native of Camden, NC, and was the son of the late William Wallace and Annie Swindell Owens and the husband of Eula West Owens of the home.
Mr. Owens was the President of W.W. Owens and Sons Moving and Storage Company of Elizabeth City, NC, and a member of Blackwell Memorial Baptist Church.
Besides his wife he is survived by one daughter, Donna O. Hassell of Elizabeth City, NC, and two sons, Terry W. Owens of Elizabeth City, NC and Robert H. Owens of Camden, NC; one sister, Thelma Twiford of Coinjock, NC, and one brother, W.C. Owens, Sr. of Elizabeth City, NC, and five grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted by the Rev. Bob Crisp, on Thursday, June 22, 1995, at 2:00 PM, at the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be at Twiford's Northside Chapel, 1115 North Road Street, on Wednesday, June 21, 1995, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Twiford's Northside Chapel, 1115 North Road Street, Elizabeth City, NC, is in charge of arrangements.
