JOHN A. MCNULTY

John A. McNulty of Virginia Beach, age 78, died June 20, 1995, in Portsmouth Naval Hospital. Mr. McNulty was born in Newry, Ireland. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1935 and retired in 1966 after spending 32 years in the United States Navy as a warrant officer. Mr. McNulty served in the Pacific Theater in World War II as well as the Korean War, The Lebanon Crisis and the Bay of Pigs Crisis. Throughout his lifetime he was active in the Virginia and Florida sport communities.

Mr. McNulty is survived by his wife Frances Ann McNulty, his daughter, Rita McNulty Baker of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, his two sons, John F. McNulty of Lafayette, Louisiana and Stephen J. McNulty of Little Rock, Arkansas. He is also survived by his two sisters Eileen Delahantey of Charlotte Hall, Maryland and Anna Rubino of Babylon, New York. He is also survived by his two brothers Patrick McNulty and Thomas D. McNulty both of New York, New York. He is survived by five grandchildren, John A. McNulty II, Elizabeth B. McNulty, Joseph D. McNulty of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Jennifer L. Baker, James C. Baker of Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

A Christian Wake Service will be held at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, on Thursday, June 22, 1995, at 7:00 p.m. with visitation following until 8:30 p.m. Mass of the resurrection will be held on Friday, June 23, 1995, at 10:00 a.m. at Little Creek Amphibious Base Catholic Chapel by Father John Morris. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery with military honors at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to charity of choice. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Bayside Chapel is handling arrangements.
