Esther Evans Garrison, formerly of Norfolk, died June 18, 1995, in a local hospital.
Ms. Garrison was born in Norfolk and was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. She attended Norfolk State and Old Dominion Universities. She was an electronics supervisor for the federal government and had recently retired from the Long Beach Naval Base in California.
Ms. Garrison was preceded in death by her father, John Evans; a brother, David Evans and a sister, Elsie Marrow.
Survivors include her mother, Elizabeth Evans; her ex-husband and friend, William Garrison; three daughters and three sons, including Everett E. Garrison; two sisters; two brothers; 12 grandchildren; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Hale Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association. A wake will be held on Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
