Rescue workers tend to one of two teenagers who were seriously
injured just before noon Tuesday in Virginia Beach when the
Chevrolet Jimmy sport truck they were riding in veered out of
control on Edwin Drive and rolled over. The truck was traveling at
nearly twice the 25 mph speed limit, police said. Kendra Parker, 14,
of Virginia Beach was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in
critical condition. Also hospitalized was 13-year-old Kami Gray of
Virginia Beach. A third passenger was treated at the scene. The
driver, Scott M. McCoy, 16, of Virginia Beach, was not hurt. Charges
against him are pending, police said.
