Mary Ellen Thomas ``Tommy'' Foreman, 72, of 2066 Rivershore Rd., Elizabeth City, died Friday in Albemarle Hospital. She was a native of Raeford, N.C., and was the daughter of the late James Benton Thomas, former member of the N.C. Senate, and the late Kate Shaw Thomas. Mrs. Foreman was a member of First United Methodist Church, past president of the Junior Woman's Club and Hospital Auxiliary. She was a graduate of Duke University and a member of the Citizen's Advisory Board of Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Evans Foreman, one daughter, Anne F. Barnes of Shaker Heights, Ohio; one sister, Kathryn T. McLeod of Raeford, N.C.; two grandchildren, Evans Barnes and Charlotte Barnes, both of Shaker Heights, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 25, 1995, at 2 p.m. in First United Methodist Church by Revs. Milton Mann and David Moehring. Burial will follow in New Hollywood Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, the Alzheimer's Foundation or to the First United Methodist Church.
