Local police are asking public assistance in solving these cases:
PORTSMOUTH
On Friday, June 9, about midnight, someone threw a cinder block through the glass front door of the WILCO mart in the 1500 block of High St. and then grabbed merchandise. The only items taken were cartons of cigarettes.
The person responsible was videotaped by a security camera. The suspect appears to be black, in his early 20s, around 6 feet tall with a stocky build.
VIRGINIA BEACH
On Tuesday, June 13, about 9:30a.m., the Central Fidelity Bank in the 5100 block of Princess Anne Road in Kempsville was robbed.
A photograph of the man was taken during the robbery. He is described as black, in his 20s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a thin build, short hair, and long fingernails. He was wearing a dark leather baseball cap, a green hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
CHESAPEAKE
On Thursday, May 25, at 10:30a.m., John Lyons was found slain inside his home in the Camelot subdivision.
Although one arrest has been made, investigators need information about another suspect, identified as Jeremiah Williams.
Police would like to speak with anyone who spoke with Williams on or about May 25 or 26, or saw him with another person driving a Chevrolet Camaro.
HAMPTON
On Sunday, June 18, at 11:20 p.m., a man was in the 1800 block of W. Mercury Blvd., when he was approached by a young man armed with a handgun.
The man told the victim to turn over two gold necklaces and a pair of white leather Grant Hill basketball shoes.
The robber is described as black, 17, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 170 pounds, and has a gold tooth in the front of his mouth. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a cream colored short and black pants. by CNB
