Our City Council should cancel funding of the outdoor amphitheater.
1. It's potentially riot-prone.
2. It's in a mosquito-infested area.
3. It will not be used five months of the year (November through March).
4. It is 12 miles from the Oceanfront with its tourist crowds.
5. Area residents worry about noise, vandalism and its impact on land values.
Instead, City Council should fund police-pay raises and allow police to drive police cars to and from work - better use of $6 million than an amphitheater.
