Martha Frances Moore, 78, of the 2700 block of Conrad Ave., died Sunday, June 25, 1995, in her residence.
Mrs. Moore was born in Ayden, N.C. She was the widow of A. Russell Moore Sr. and owned and operated Frances Beauty Salon in Portsmouth. She was a member of Fairview Heights Baptist Church, the Fidelis Sunday School Class and Eva Saunders Circle. She was also a member of Fellowship Chapter 140 O.E.S., Daughters of America, Council 29, Ladies of the Moose 898, Deep Creek and Beasley Senior Citizens, Deep Creek Womans Club, Nina Senior Citizens, South Norfolk and South Loxley Garden Club.
Survivors include her daughter, Christine M. Belcher and son-in-law, Eddie Belcher of Chesapeake; her son, A. Russell Moore Jr. of Chesapeake and a daughter-in-law, Shirley Moore; a sister, Ella Mae Wiggins of Ayden, N.C.; a brother, Ruben Henry McLaw-horn of Valrico, Fla.; four grandchildren, Buddy Belcher, Eric Belcher, Alan Moore and Melanie Nichols; and two great-grandchildren, Clayton Belcher and Austin Nichols.
The funeral with Eastern Star rites will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Fairview Heights Baptist Church by Dr. Ted Barton. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
